淺間火山是日本著名的活火山，而以淺間火山及本田傳奇的RC 賽車為設計元素的背後，有著這樣的歷史背景：

二戰後，日本摩托車製造商，為了提高摩托車的性能；但，當時的日本，還沒有可以舉辦TT比賽的鋪裝公路賽道。
即便如此，當時堪稱日本唯一的正式摩托車賽事，也就在淺間火山的山腳下的未鋪裝公路上熱烈展開！而各製造商如：本田、山葉、鈴木等，都積極參予比賽，借彼此競技交流來提升技術水平！
